Subcontractor Default

When a subcontractor fails to perform or meet obligations, including carrying required insurance, exposing the GC to loss.

Subcontractor default is any failure by a sub to meet its contractual duties, abandoning work, going insolvent, or letting required insurance lapse. Each form of default can leave the GC absorbing costs it expected the sub to cover.

Insurance-related default is especially insidious because it is silent: a sub keeps working while their coverage quietly expires. Continuous COI tracking surfaces this before it becomes an uninsured loss.

Track this on every subcontractor

CoiLoop collects COIs and W-9s through no-login links, uses AI to read each certificate and check limits, endorsements, and dates against your requirements, and warns you before anything expires.
