Coverage Types

Employers' Liability

Coverage, usually bundled with workers' comp, that protects a business against employee injury lawsuits beyond statutory benefits.

Employers' liability is the second half of a workers' compensation policy. Where workers' comp pays statutory benefits, employers' liability responds when an injured employee sues the employer directly, for example alleging unsafe conditions.

On an ACORD 25 it appears in the workers' comp section with its own limits (often $500K or $1M). GCs setting WC requirements typically specify employers' liability minimums too.
