Ongoing operations refers to claims that occur while the sub's work is still in progress, a tool dropped on a passerby, water damage during an active install. A CG 20 10 endorsement extends additional insured status for exactly this phase.
GCs distinguish ongoing from completed operations because they require different endorsements. Covering only ongoing operations leaves the post-completion period exposed.
