Endorsements & Contract Clauses

Blanket Additional Insured

An endorsement that automatically adds anyone the named insured is contractually required to cover, without naming each party.

A blanket additional insured endorsement covers any party the sub has agreed in a written contract to add, without listing each one individually. It is efficient for subs working for many GCs at once.

Blanket wording can be acceptable, but GCs should read the form: it only extends coverage where a written contract requires it, so the underlying subcontract language has to actually obligate the additional insured status.
